1040 objects out of 1089 were stolen from the looted museum of Mallawi, Minia

1040 objects were stolen out of 1089 objects on display on Mallawi museum in Minia which was looted yesterday. Most if the rest if the big size statues were damaged as looters couldn't transfer them. Another sad day for the Egyptian heritage.

  • Why would they intentionally wreck their own heritage? Looting your hometown or homeland has always confused me. Why? Just so when you're no longer p*ssed off, you can look around the destruction you contributed to, and then watch as it's all slowly rebuilt, with usually tax payers' money (btw, I have no idea how public money is handled in Egypt). I never understood the LA riots in the 90's either, or any other place where people trash their own homes and stores and heritage, just because they're torqued off about something. MAKES NO SENSE!!
